Kayano and the 3-E students take advantage of Koro Sensei’s love of pudding and try to assassinate him using a giant flan. Karasuma steps up the student’s training and teaches them free running to better their chances of success during assassination attempts. A lingerie thief is said to be in the area that looks like Koro Sensei. After investigating, the students find that it was all a ruse to lure Koro Sensei into a trap so that Itona and Shiro could attempt to assassinate him. After the failed attempt Shiro abandons Itona and moves on without him. The students of 3-E must now find a way to save Itona and make him a part of the class.

Excellent story developments throughout this volume. We finally have our conclusion with Itona, and maybe Shiro. Koro Sensei’s name was cleared, and the students now have sharper skills from their training. With time, I’m certain that Itona could become a huge help to the class. Itona is becoming one of my favorite characters because he just doesn’t know when to quit. He has his goal in mind and strives to achieve it. I imagine that trait would be valuable in this type of setting.

Itonia had a huge development when he decided to give up his hate and his blind desire for strength. Now with a clear mind Itona can work on being a normal student in class 3-E. I am sure that Itonia can come up with several assassination plans. I can’t wait to see how well Itona develops throughout the series. As mentioned above, Itona is becoming one of my favorite characters, due to the sheer fact that he is so unique and quirky. Very few students have been able to damage Koro Sensei as much as Itona has up to this point. I firmly believe that with the right structure and guidance he may very well deal the killing blow to Koro Sensei. Though Itona has done the most damage, he does still have growing to do in terms of teamwork.

Kayano had a major development in this volume. She is normally a more quiet and out of the way character yet this time around she came up with one of the biggest assassination plans that we have seen in this series. Kayano’s plan was nearly perfect in every way and would have been successful if not for one minor oversight. The students would have succeeded if Koro Sensei didn’t have such a keen nose. Of all the things to thwart an assassination attempt it had to be his sense of smell.

I was a little disappointed to see this assassination attempt fail, because it was one of the most elaborate attempts we have ever seen. I am certain this isn’t Kayano’s only assassination attempt, and we will be seeing more of this scale, or maybe even bigger in the coming volumes. Though just once I would like to see the students fatally wound Koro Sensei. I am starting to believe that he truly can’t be killed. One thing is certain for the assassination attempt to succeed it will have to be huge.

This volume hit the highest marks when it came to story and character development. Several students had the opportunity to exhibit their skills, and nearly assassinate their target. As the series moves on, I hope we will see more students join the class and come even closer to assassinating Koro Sensei. I feel that the students are slowly inching towards the day when they successfully assassinate their teacher and I become more excited with each volume. Assassination Classroom volume 10 was an excellent read.
