The strongest heroes have been gathered to the Hero Association headquarters to discuss the premonition foretold by the seer, when aliens attack City A. Can this be the disaster that the seer had foreseen? Saitama battles his way through the alien ship to take care of the leader Boros. Can Saitama stop them before another city is destroyed? Saitama and the other heroes definitely have their work cut out for them.
There was not much in the way of character development in this volume, but the action more than made up for it. Though there was not a lot of character development, many new heroes were introduced, and we get a better picture of who the top heroes are. We even got a chance to see these heroes in action. The story is still pushing forward with new villains being introduced and Saitama doing what he does best. Saitama is working more with other heroes which is great, because it’s always nice to see what the other heroes can do. With Saitama working with other heroes he’s also getting his name out there more which could prove helpful.
It is difficult to find something wrong with this volume. If I had to pick something it would be that the premonition that the seer had foretold does not actually add to the story at all. The note reads “The Earth is in danger” not a very interesting or exciting addition to the story. A needed plot point, in my opinion, I think it could have had a bit more drama or weight behind it. That is my only gripe and not even a big one considering the satire of the series. As such I am still eager to see what this looming danger could be. It’s also possible that the threat she foretold could also be Boros.
It has finally happened. Saitama punches Boros and he does not die on impact. It took 6 volumes to get here, but here we are. I could not be more pleased with this volume, the other heroes managed to defeat a high level alien threat on their own as well. Great story all around, major alien attack, an entire city devastated, and an alien leader that cannot be defeated with a single punch. Boros looks amazing, the only enemy thus far to go toe to toe with Saitama and not only live but hit back.
I know that I have said it before, but this is my favorite volume so far. The other entries were great but this one gives me, as a reader, everything I was looking for in this series. I feel that ONE is moving the story along at a perfect rate. Now that we have found the worthy opponent that Saitama has been desperately searching for, I can only imagine the monsters and enemies that are to come. I strongly recommend that you read this volume.
